Understanding your options
The ecoEnergy Initiative service
provides a thorough basement-to-attic assessment of your home's
energy use. The energy advisor's written report will help you to
plan retrofits and estimate the cost of professional
renovations.
Grants toward your retrofit expenses
After you have completed energy
upgrades, our experts will provide a second evaluation and an
ecoEnergy Initiative rating label. This documents and
certifies your home's improved energy use. We will also apply
for the Federal Rebate on your behalf.
Taking action to prevent climate change
Only homes that have had pre- and
post- retrofit evaluations are eligible for grants.
Proof of upgrades
The use of energy from fossil
fuels is a major cause of greenhouse gas emissions that contribute
to climate change. Please click here. Canadians are being asked to reduce their greenhouse
gas emissions. By using less energy, you can make your contribution
to help protect our environment.
Under no obligation
When you book your home energy
evaluation, your energy advisor will provide you with the best
information available and answer all of your questions. What you
change or how much you improve your home is totally up to you. You
will be going forward knowing where your energy and ventilation
issues are and what you can do to improve them.
THE EnerGuide for Houses
And The ecoEnergy Initiative programs were
created by the Government of Canada to help homeowners get
independent, expert advice about the energy efficiency of their
homes. Developed by the Office of Energy Efficiency of Natural
Resources Canada in cooperation with the Canada Mortgage and
Housing Corporation, the service aims to reduce carbon dioxide
emissions in Canada's housing stock. The intent is to expand the
energy evaluation industry and improve the energy efficiency of
housing in Canada. This is important in order to save homeowners
money, create jobs, promote the manufacturing of energy efficient
products in Canada and help reduce greenhouse gas emissions that
contribute to climate
change.
