Home Efficiency Assessment

An ecoEnergy Retrofit evaluation is used to advise homeowners on energy-efficient improvements for their homes. We will provide independent expert advice on the different systems of your home and what can be done to improve comfort, reduce energy bills and cut down on greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to climate change.

An ecoEnergy Retrofit advisor will visit your home by appointment and perform a number of tests on your house. The evaluation includes the following:

• A "blower door" test that temporarily reduces the air pressure in your house. This will accentuate air-leakage points, making problem areas easier to find.

• A comprehensive walk-through tour of your house will show you areas of air leakage and other problem areas.

• Data collected by the ecoEnergy Retrofit advisor is entered into a software program that models your home's energy usage. This software provides you with an ecoEnergy Retrofit Report that customizes recommendations for your home that are based on a thorough, whole-house energy evaluation and analysis.

• An ecoEnergy Retrofit rating allows you to compare your home with others across Canada.
